4ARMED is sponsoring the East of England ISC2 Chapter’s Tech Parents Workshop.

The event, part of a regular calendar of events run by the chapter is being hosted at the Brewery Tap in Peterborough on Thursday 8th September from 18:30 (tonight!).

The workshop is focusing on Child Safety Online with a focus on technical and infosec parents’ approaches to protecting their children in our digital world.

There are two talks:

The first by Adam Maxwell, will demonstrate just how much information can be available publicly from children’s apps and he’ll be using Maltego to show how you can pull this data together.

The second is by me, Marc Wickenden, Technical Director at 4ARMED, where I’ll be discussing how I ported a platform we developed in house for network breach detection to a Raspberry Pi to provide a cutdown version for home use!

The evening will conclude with (descend into?) a debate on morality, ethics, child privacy and just what is the right thing to about the problem. We do hope you can join us. It’s free and there are limited tickets still available at the following URL:
